Active-duty US military personnel, along with their spouses and dependents, can now avail a 10% discount on the lowest available rail fare for most Amtrak trains, including travel on the Auto Train, by presenting valid active-duty United States Armed Forces identification cards.
Additionally, Amtrak prioritizes uniformed military personnel by allowing them to head to the front of the ticket line. Children (ages 2-12) of active-duty US military personnel are entitled to a 10% discount, in addition to the everyday children's 50% discount on the lowest available adult rail fare for most Amtrak trains, including the Auto Train.
Offer Details:
- The military discount is not applicable to Saver Fares or on weekday Acela trains.
- Non-Acela Business class, First class, or sleeping accommodation are excluded from the military discount, with upgrades permitted upon payment of the full accommodation charges.
- The military discount does not apply to travel on specific Amtrak Thruway connecting services.
- It is not valid on the Canadian portion of services operated jointly by Amtrak and VIA Rail Canada.
- The military discount may not be combined with other discount offers; refer to the terms and conditions for each offer. Additional restrictions may apply.
